Enter Casa Chango, Puerto Escondido Mexico

I chose a deeper yes, let the nos fall where they may, and fled to a playful paradise: Casa Chango.

Myself and 15 other fire fairies took to cartwheels in the morning, aerial flight by afternoon, and nude stargazing by night.

It was here that, perhaps for the first time in my life, I really centered what’s often referred to as the “inner child.” For some, this concept may feel challenging, even a bit cringe, as it once did for me. Here’s a reflection that best encapsulates the real wisdom of that experience:

The wisest part of me has been here all along.

Little Dre.

My oldest, youngest part.

The one who intuitively feels free to play, knows what feels safe, knows where she stands.

“I Am the Ground”

She giggles, when the ground feels groundless.

She senses what is right and what is not.

She’s clear in her connection to Spirit and Earth.

You can tell her, but she already knows.

You may not agree, and she doesn’t mind.

She is the gatekeeper of intuitive knowing.

She rests naturally in the balance of mindful awareness and embodied truth.

Before she was taught to deny reality.

Before arbitrary rules were imposed.

Before the natural process of feelings and sensations and thoughts were something to resist.

She allowed and loved the wholeness of experience

The wholeness of herself.

Perhaps it took all that no-ing and not knowing to know

Who she is here now

Where she belongs

Back at the center

Showing the way of truth.
